  Milka Duno is the only Latina woman to have ever run in the Indy 500 Mile Race. Born April 22, 1972 in Caracus Venezuela, Milka developed into a professional race car driver late in life. Her racing career began after she accepted an invitation to a driving clinic by a Venezuelan car club.

  Before she began racing at the age of 24, she had earned a master’s degree in Organizational Development, Naval Architecture, Maritime Business and Marine Biology. She also worked as a professional model. She has been an advocate for education throughout her adult life and regularly speaks to school age children in schools near her racing venues.

  Milka finshed 31st at the Indy 500 in 2007 racing for the SAMAX team. She finished 19th at Indy in 2008 and 20th in 2009. She failed to qualify for the 2010 Indy 500. She has had better success in the American LeMans and the Rolex Grand-Am series. Her future in the Indy Car Series is uncertain as of 2010.
