Danica Patrick is the fourth woman in history to race in the Indianapolis 500 mile race, and the only one to have ever led it. Complimenting that success, she won the Indy Japan 300 in 2008 making her the first, and so far the only, woman to have won an Indy Car race. Though she has yet to win the Indy 500, many believe she has the team and the skill necessary to do it. She finished 3rd at Indy in 2009, behind Helio Castroneves and runner up Dan Weldon.
The feisty raven haired beauty currently drives for the Andretti Autosport Racing Team (formerly Andretti Green Racing) and her car is sponsored by Go-Daddy.com and Motorola. She drives a stock car in the NASCAR Nationwide Series for JR Motor Sports on a limited schedule. Rumors of a move to Formula One faded quickly when Honda withdrew from the series in 2008. In 2010 Patrick was awarded her 6th Indy DownForce IZOD Indy Car Most Popular Driver Award. She is undeniably one of the most popular drivers in the Indy Car series.
